Solutions for houses and cabins
Ecomotive is responsible for developing several treatment plants with very good environmental and treatment properties. These plants are now commercial products manufactured and sold by the Jets™ group.
Ecomotive greywater treatment plant for cabins and homes
A02 is a treatment plant suitable for single houses and cabins. The treatment plant can handle up to 6 people daily and up to 9 people for shorter periods. The cleaning effect is good, having demonstrated low organic and phosphorus emissions (BOD 11.2 mg / l, P 0.6 mg / l).
Ecomotive A02 constitutes one half of a source separation wastewater system. The other half consists of low-flushing toilets or vacuum toilets where the toilet waste goes to a separate collection tank.
A02 is an optimal solution for use with Jets ™ vacuum toilets. This toilet only uses 0.6L water, versus 6L for a traditional toilet. By combining the A02 for gray water treatment together with a Jets™ vacuum toilet and collecting tank for black water, we can offer the most sustainable wastewater solution on the market. Questions about pricing and purchasing should be directed to Jets™ or their dealer network.
All Ecomotive solutions are scientifically documented.
- The Ecomotive A01 treatment plant was launched in 2008 for high-end cabins. The A01 was designed and developed as a compact plant with all its features housed in a single tank. The background for the design was both a desire for easier transportation and less digging, but also a desire to develop technical solutions that could clean more water using less space.
- We have been successful in doing so, and in 2013 the successor A02 was launched. The design and construction of the Ecomotive A02 is the same as for the Ecomotive A01, but technically the plants are slightly different. The Ecomotive A02 was also upgraded to handle gray water treatment for residential homes.
Advantages in treating both gray and black water
The advantage of source separation is that almost all substances contained in the wastewater from a household that you do not want to disperse into nature, are found in the toilet waste. Most of the wastewater consists of less hazardous gray water. By collecting the black water from the toilet in a separate tank, most of the wastewater from the household (gray water) can be more easily treated to a quality that allows it to be reinserted into the local water cycle without adverse effects on health and environment. The black water tank is emptied by truck.
The combination of treating gray water and collecting black water makes it possible to establish a complete source-separating wastewater system on your own property. We call this a decentralized wastewater system. Such a system is even more efficient and robust when used with low-flushing toilets or vacuum toilets. The amount of collected black water becomes smaller with such toilets, and this is beneficial when transporting black water away by truck for processing.
A02 and its predecessor A01 have been supplied in relatively large numbers and are used in several vulnerable areas near drinking water sources:
- Brusdalen (Ålesund, Norway)
- Maridalen (Oslo, Norway)
- and more
